📅 - Allegiance Telecom (algx.com)announced yesterday that it is renaming CTSnet(cts.com)and Connect.net to Hosting.com.
The San Diego-based Web hosting and Internet service providercompanies were acquired by Dallas-based Allegianceearlier this year and in 2000, respectively.
Allegiance Telecom announced the two companies wouldnow be known as Hosting.com, operating in concert withother Allegiance Web hosting operations locatedthroughout the country. CTSnet has been an Internetservice provider supplying Internet access, Webhosting and co-location services since 1993. Connect.net has delivered high-speed Internet products and services to the San Diegometropolitan area since 1995.
Allegiance Telecom purchased CONNECT.net in July,2000. Hosting.com, an Allegiance Telecom company, isa national provider of Web hosting and Internetconnectivity services targeted to small andmedium-sized enterprises.Services include dedicated and managed hosting,co-located hosting services, shared Web hosting, and avariety of Internet connectivity options.
The company provides its services over its ownbackbone and Internet Data Center infrastructure. "Operating as a key part of the national Hosting.comorganization further solidifies our position as thepre-eminent Web hosting and Internet connectivityprovider in the San Diego area," said Morgan Davis,Hosting.com senior director of operations in SanDiego.
Since its founding in 1997, Allegiance Telecom hasrapidly become one of the leading facilities-basedintegrated communications providers in the U.S. Allegiance provides its business customers with acomplete package oftelecommunications services, including local, longdistance, international calling, high-speed datatransmission and Internet services and e- commerceofferings.

Allegiance currently has 33 markets operational acrossthe U.S. Yesterday, the company also announced thatthey have acquired Chicago's InterAccess as part ofthe Hosting.com web.
