Fireman?s Fund Selects CGI for 10-Year IT Outsourcing Contract
📅 - Fireman's Fund Insurance Company (firemansfund.com), a subsidiary of Allianz AG of Munich, has selected CGI Group Inc. (cgi.ca), for a10-year, information technology outsourcing contract.The major terms and conditions of the contract havebeen agreed upon and the contract is expected to befinalized by October 2001. The contract is currentlyvalued at a range of US $350 to 400 million.
As part of the agreement, CGI will provide Fireman'sFund with IT support services to some 80 locationsacross the United States. Also, CGI will take over theclient's Phoenix-based, 40,000 square foot, standalonedata center. The data center, which includes a printoperation, will become CGI's premier technology centerin the United States. Over 300 Fireman's Fundemployees will become CGI members.
CGI will offer services through its near-shoredelivery model in providing support from its Canadiandata centers for 500 NT servers and large Unixplatforms for all e-business applications. CGI willprovide constant 24-hour support, serving over 11,000desktops, laptops and printers.

"As aresult, we will now be able to enhance our delivery ofIT services therefore meeting our business andfinancial needs. These significant cost savings willenable us to continue to improve our services to ourclients."
