MpowerOffice combines high-speed Internet access withlocal and long distance voice services, as well aspopular local calling features and Internetapplications. By providing this bundle over anunchannelized T1 platform, Mpower can offer customersflexible bandwidth allocation and guaranteed datarates, essential in today's e-business communicationsenvironment.
Cobb County Community Services, a government agencyproviding mental health, 911, and educational servicesin Atlanta, Georgia and one of the first customers totrial this solution, is running eight local voicelines and Internet speeds of 1.0 Mbps on itsMpowerOffice connection.
"Unlike shared or dial-up Internet connections,MpowerOffice guarantees our bandwidth rates. Inaddition, when our voice lines are not being used, wecan burst to data speeds above our guaranteed rates,"said Scott Griffith, network administrator for Cobband Douglas County Community Services. "MpowerOfficeis an ideal communications package for the way weconduct business since it provides the ability todynamically allocate bandwidth, as well as easy remoteaccess and all the local service features we need."
Each MpowerOffice package includes LATA-wide calling,flat rate long distance, dedicated bandwidth, remotedial- up access, email accounts, voice mail, caller IDand the ability to select additional features.
MpowerOffice Accelerator includes four to eight localvoice lines and Internet service from 320 Kbps to 1.0Mbps. The MpowerOffice Velocity service includes nineto 16 local voice lines, Internet service from 512Kbps to 1.0 Mbps and IP features such as DNS, Webhosting, domained email service and additional IPaddresses.
"Given the open architecture of our facilities-basednetwork, we are able to leverage our existing DSLAMinfrastructure to provide T1-based services whichbridge the distance and plant limitations of DSL,"said Mpower CEO Rolla P.
