📅 - Center 7 Inc. (center7.com), a leadingmanagement service provider and certified OracleiStore hosting partner, yesterday announced itsProfitCenter multi-tier, scalable hosting environmentfor Oracle's customer-facing CRM products.
Center 7 currently hosts the nation's largest OracleiStore (oraclestore.oracle.com) implementation on a combination of Sun Enterprise servers, supporting morethan 500 concurrent users, an industry first.
Oracle iStore is a customizable e-commerce applicationthat enables businesses to build, deploy, and manageonline storefronts. It integrates with the other "bestin class" Oracle applications, such as order entry, configurator, and financials.
"Until now, iStore has been installed only on large, single servers running in the same instance as theOracle database," said Mark Jensen, Oracle partnermanager at Center 7. "We realized the disparate needsof our customers' sales and financial departments.
"Our ProfitCenter design allows clients to rune-commerce in a separate environment and applycomputing power where it is needed: on the front-endfor high-volume sites, and on the back-end for complexordering cycles. We devoted significant R&D efforts totune the iStore environment, get the bugs out, andapply the patches so it could support 500 concurrentusers and maintain the ability to scale from there."
Jensen added, "If business were to double for ourcustomers, we could go in, integrate more hardware, and scale the system to handle even larger numbers ofusers. No one else is doing this with iStore on such agrand scale."
