Express Technologies Purchases Digital Chainsaw Web Hosting Business

📅 November 2, 2001 - High Speed Access Corp. (hsacorp.com) and ExpressTechnologies Inc. (exptech.com), of Louisville, KY, announced yesterday that Express Technologies has purchased certain assets of Digital Chainsaw's Web hosting business.

Digital Chainsaw, a St. Petersburg-based Web hosting company owned by HSA,serves approximately 6000 customers. HSA had announced its plans to sell theWeb hosting unit in August 2001, as part of its efforts to reduce expensesand focus on businesses which it believes have near-term profit potential.
Daniels & Associates, the Denver-based media and telecommunications mergers& acquisitions specialist, represented the buyer.
Express Technologies, which owns and operates HalfPriceHosting, aWindows-based Web hosting provider, and CFXHosting, which focusesexclusively on hosting sites developed using the ColdFusion developmentlanguage, will operate Digital Chainsaw as a new division of the company.
"We look forward to building upon Digital Chainsaw's commitment to superiorcustomer service and technological support," said Gregory G. Hodges, chiefoperating officer of HSA. "It was very important that we find a buyer forDigital Chainsaw that would continue to provide high quality service to ourcustomers, which is what we found with Express Technologies."
