Nov, 2001 : Einux Introduces 1U Server with New Athlon CPUs
📅 - Einux (einux.com) yesterday launched the A.Serv A1150 SuperBird, what it calls the fastest single processor 1U rackmount server available utilizing AMD's new Athlon XP processors, including the 1900+ announced yesterday. The SuperBird 1U, operating at clock speeds of up to 1.6GHz, starts at a price of $1,395 making it one of the most cost-effective 1U rackservers available combining high-speed performance with AMD technology.
Designed for demanding enterprise and high performance computingenvironments, Einux's A.Serv A1150 SuperBird 1U features Via Technologies'newest KT266/A chipset supporting up to 1.5GB of fast PC2100 Double DataRate memory. In addition, the SuperBird has the option to have up to anunprecedented 4 10/100 Ethernet Adapters for maximum network flexibility. Aspart of the Einux's A.Serv family of high-density rackservers, the SuperBirdalso features Einux's patent-pending ServerKool and CPUKool and a uniquealuminum-magnesium alloy chassis, which produces an efficient and cooloperating environment for optimal server performance. The aluminum-magnesiumalloy material used in the SuperBird is a special alloy mixture, originallydeveloped for aircraft and spacecraft, which acts as an overall heatsink, cooling not just the CPU but the entire server operating environment keepinginternal ambient temperature up to 10 degrees Celcius cooler thanconventional materials.
At the heart of Einux's SuperBird 1U is AMD's super fast Athlon XP CPU,based on AMD's Palomino core and featuring new technologies such as 3DNow!Professional and QuantiSpeed architecture, which allows the AMD Athlon XPprocessor to accomplish more work per clock cycle when compared to othercompeting processors and achieve relatively high operating frequencies. TheQuantiSpeed architecture is the key element that provides the AMD Athlon XPprocessor with a "quantum leap" in real-world application performance. Inbenchmarks, the Athlon XP performed 10-50% faster than comparable IntelPentium 4 processors.
"Einux continues to set the mark for performance and value with the newA.Serv A1150 SuperBird 1U with AMD's Athlon XP CPU. IT departments todaydemand the most bang for the buck for their dollar and the A.Serv A1150SuperBird delivers," said Rex Wong, president and CEO of Einux.
The A.Serv A1150 SuperBird 1U RackServer with AMD Athlon XP 1600+, 1800+ and1900+ CPUs are available immediately at $1,395, $1,595 and $1,795,respectively. Standard configurations include AMD Athlon XP CPU, 20GB7200RPM IDE hard drive and 256MB PC2100 DDR memory.
