📅 - iXsystems Inc. (ixsystems.net), formerly BSDi, has announced that their iXtreme Internet Hosting Servers will be powered by Plesk's (plesk.com) Server Administrator v2.0. The iXsystems' iXtreme Internet Hosting Servers are purpose-built server systems developed from Internet infrastructure-grade hardware and software to accelerate deployment of e-business solutions. The iXtreme Internet Hosting Server is designed specifically for ISPs and NSPs who want to maximize horsepower per square inch and operate complex Web sites and e-commerce applications.
"Plesk's Web-based administration interface allows our customers to deliverbetter, faster service to their clients by sharing server management withthem," said Jerry Morgan, iXsystems' vice president of product management."Plesk's Server Administrator reduces support costs for hosting companiesand their resellers by automating and sharing server management with domainowners. It also greatly increases the productivity of Linux and Unixadministrators by allowing them to spend less time on routine managementtasks, and domain owners gain the self-management control they want overtheir servers without needing skilled personnel or third party support."
At 15" deep, the iXsystems Internet Hosting Server is two-thirds the size ofconventional 1U servers and appliances, enabling service providers to saveon data center space and increase their return on investment. Fully equippedfor Web hosting, the new iXsystems appliance enables service providers tohost hundreds of sites on a single system, with customers able to managetheir own domains. It runs up to 20 percent cooler than conventional serverappliances, making it ideal for data centers that are not super-cooled. Itis also features snap-in, snap-out components that minimize downtime.

The less expensive Model 110, available in a standard 1Uform factor, features a single Intel Celeron 800 MHz processor with supportfor up to 512 MB of memory. Prices begin at $970.
