Nov, 2001 : France's Nerim Uses Ebone to Deliver Broadband
📅 - Nerim (nerim.net), a broadband access provider in France, is using Ebone (ebone.com) to improve service quality and speed for its broadband customers. Nerim says it chose the broadband services provider because of its international coverage, the access speed that it enables, and customer service.
"We use different network providers as a fail-safe for providing ourcustomers with a premium-quality service, but it is the Ebone network thatgives our customers the fastest and most reliable Internet access," saidChristophe Carel, managing director, Nerim. "We were also impressed at howquickly Ebone was able to make their network available to Nerim and thelevel of quality for the price was very competitive."
Nerim provides broadband services to more than 7000 business and residentialusers across France. Business customers include Ventilo, a fashion retailerwith a series of site stores in Paris and other major cities such as NewYork, London, Brussels, Milan, and Geneva. Another customer, France Teaser,is also a French ISP and is using Nerim's DSL service to provide access toits business users. France Teaser and Ventilo chose Nerim because of thereliability and the speed of the connection over Ebone's network. Nerimoffers customers two ADSL services: Nerim Base which runs at 500Kbps andNerim Pro at 1Mbps.
"The deal with Nerim is the latest in a line of high-profile customers Ebonehas won in France including mobile phone operators, broadband ISPs andbusinesses. The French Ministry of Culture and Communication, for instance,uses Ebone for its Musee d'Orsay and Louvre websites," said ChristopheLahaye, Ebone vice president Southern Europe. "Customers like these arecoming to Ebone because the speed, quality and reliability of the service weoffer sets us apart from the competition."
Nerim has signed a two-year contract with Ebone for high-speed internationalIP transit. Nerim recently bought the French ISP Mangoosta and neededadditional IP capacity to meet demand from additional customers.
