📅 December 14, 2001 - Sierra Wireless (sierrawireless.com) announced yesterday that its Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 was honored with a Best of Show Award at Internet World Fall 2001 in New York City.

The Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 was recognized in the Communication andCollaboration category for its attention to always-on high-speed access anduser power consumption.
"The Internet World Best of Show Awards are designed to recognize theexhibitors who are offering products and services that make systems runfaster, bring more people in contact with each other, and connect people totheir data wherever they may be," said John Zipperer, technology editor ofInternet World magazine and head of the judging staff.
The Sierra Wireless AirCard 555 wireless network card gives mobile usersanytime, anywhere wireless access to the Internet, intranet, corporateapplications and email. It offers high-speed wireless access on thenationwide CDMA network at speeds up to 153 kbps. The design offers superiorpower management allowing users to work wirelessly for extended periods. Endusers may also add voice and messaging capabilities to their laptop or PDAs.
