The network also needed to perform reliably during sharpspikes in consumer traffic during fare promotions and the holiday seasons.Savvis delivered a scalable 20Mbps networking solution.
"It is imperative that we provide flawless service through ourContinental.com portal, because encountering frequent problems with bookingflights and conducting other travel-related business online underminescustomer loyalty and can potentially mean lost business," said Andre Gold,Continental's technical director of Internet engineering. "Taking our onlineservices in-house is a significant commitment, so we put the Savvis networkthrough rigorous simulations and testing to evaluate performance duringpeaks and valleys of traffic and found that it more than met our demands.Across the Savvis link we can also access real-time statistical data tomonitor the network's performance at any time."
