Jan, 2002 : Andritz Chooses KPNQwest for Global VPN Solution
📅 - KPNQwest (kpnqwest.com), a pan-European data communicationsand hosting company, announced today that it has signed a deal with the Austrian technology group Andritz (andritz.com), a provider of production systems for pulp, paper, steel and other industries, to provide a 20-site, 8-country IP-VPN service.
Under the terms of the deal, KPNQwest will provide Andritz with a scalableIP-VPN service to interconnect sites in Austria, Germany, Netherlands,Ireland, UK, France, Canada and the United States. The solution will providean all- IP platform to support Andritz's business-critical applications ande-mail systems, enabling employees to access and share information acrossone centralized corporate network. It will also support ERP (EnterpriseResource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) applicationsacross its global network.
The solution is deployed across one of the largest fibre-optic backbones inEurope with full interoperability to a 160,000km global network withvirtually unlimited bandwidth. This can be used to support the delivery ofbandwidth-rich data files or business-critical applications minimal latencyfor ensuring fast round trip times.
"While the migration to the IP-VPN service will help reduce our networkingcosts and add new efficiencies, we selected KPNQwest because itswholly-owned network provided the quality of service and service levelagreement we required," said Heiner Fellner-Feldegg, head of ITcommunications of Andritz.
