Keynote to Measure Performance of Super Bowl, Olympic Sites
📅 - Keynote (v) announced that it will measure andreport on the performance of Web sites for a number of upcoming big events,determining how accessible these sites are for online users when there is amajor online initiative.
Keynote will measure the SuperBowl.com and NFL Web sites, as well as otherpopular sports sites and sites of many of the companies advertising duringthe game, including those holding special online promotions in conjunctionwith the Super Bowl. Some of the Web sites for last year's Super Bowladvertisers slowed considerably during and immediately following the game,Keynote says.
Keynote will also measure the official Web site of the Salt Lake CityOlympics, as well as other affiliated Olympics sites and those of majorsports sites covering the Games. The company will report initial results inthe days following the opening ceremony on Friday, Feb. 8, with finalresults following the close of the Games on Sunday, Feb. 24. During the 2000Olympics Games in Sydney, the Olympics and related sports sites performedvery well for users around the world, particularly with the officialOlympics site receiving almost 2 billion hits in the first six days of theGames.
Flower, chocolate and card sites, as well as other gift sites, have becomemajor Valentine's Day destinations over the past few years. Last year therewas a wide discrepancy in performance, with flower sites averaging from 2.0to almost 30 seconds for users to access these sites to place orders in theweek prior to Valentine's Day. Keynote will continue to follow how well theydo this year.
IRS.gov, as well as state tax sites and popular tax preparation sites havebecome very popular over the past couple of years with the increase inonline tax filing and easy online accessibility of tax forms and advice.Last year, IRS.gov and popular tax preparation sites by and large deliveredhigh performance and availability for last minute tax filers, with just afew performance problems in the couple of months prior to the April 14deadline.
