📅 February 19, 2002 - Level 3 Communications, Inc., a global communications and information services company, today announced it has signed an agreement to provide a North American transport backbone to Triumph Communications, Inc., a New York-based provider of private digital fiber networks for broadcast customers.

With its OC-12 network backbone, Level 3 provides approximately 35 high-speed private line circuits to Triumph (triumphco.com). With these lines, Triumph--a subsidiary of Liberty Livewire Corporation--offers enhanced services to its customers. The company turned up many of the Triumph circuits using its On-Net Transport Activation Process (ONTAP) provisioning system. The ONTAP system enables delivery of wavelength and private line service in less than 10 business days.
``Transporting broadcast video signals requires the highest level of network reliability,'' said Kevin O'Hara, Level 3's president and chief operating officer. ``Our agreement with Triumph stands as strong testament to the underlying capabilities of our network, as well as to our provisioning skill. The ONTAP process continues to separate Level 3 from other competitors in the industry.''
