NetOctave to Integrate Security Processor with Intel IXP2800, IXP2400
📅 - NetOctave, Inc. (netoctave.com), a developer of securityprocessors and security accelerator boards for the SSL, IPsec, and IPstorage markets, has announced that it will provide reference designs thatintegrate NetOctave's NSP3200 Security Processor with the new Intel IXP2800and IXP2400 Network Processors and enable developers to create protected VPNsystems running at Gigabit Ethernet and OC-48 rates.
"Security is a significant challenge in the creation of high-speed IPnetworks," said Doug Davis, general manager of the Intel Network ProcessorDivision. "NetOctave offers an option for the IXP2400 Network Processor thatwill help enable equipment makers to easily provide IPsec security inhigh-performance systems."
NetOctave's NSP3200 Security Processor employs NetOctave's FlowThroughSecurity Architecture to deliver full-duplex OC-48 and multi-GigabitEthernet throughput for IPsec encrypted traffic. The NSP3200 providescomplete IPsec packet processing on a single chip, a SPI-3 streaminginterface, and on-chip policy lookup. To support network-system vendors,NetOctave will market, sell and support the IPsec-enabled Gigabit Ethernetand OC-48 solutions for use in VPN, general-purpose networking, and IPStorage applications. NetOctave is member of the Intel Internet ExchangeArchitecture Developer Network.
"NetOctave is pleased to be working with Intel to deliver line-rate IPsecsecurity in Gigabit Ethernet and OC-48 systems," said NetOctave CEO RickHegberg. "The combined solution of the NSP3200, the Intel IXP2400 NetworkProcessor, and NetOctave's reference designs and software support willprovide equipment manufacturers with easy-to-implement IPsec security forhigh-speed network systems."
