Mar, 2002 : Sprint Picks NetCracker Network Inventory Solution
📅 - NetCracker Technology (netcracker.com), a supplier of communication infrastructure management solutions for service providers and communications-dependent businesses, announced on Tuesday that telecommunications company Sprint (sprint.com) has selected the NetCracker solution to manage the network and server inventory for its Internet Centers.
The Sprint Internet Centers support the company's E|Solutions products, designed to supply customers with services such as Web hosting, colocation, network monitoring and IT consulting services on matters including productivity, portability, scalability, reliability and security.
"It is essential that we have in place an inventory system that enables us to accurately track our hosting assets to provide superior service," says Chas Peterson, director of information systems technology services at Sprint. "After evaluating multiple solutions, NetCracker became the select choice as the best tool to meet our current and future needs that could be configured to reflect our environment and integrate with our other mission-critical support applications."
NetCracker says it is excited to be working with Sprint, and takes pride in the level of credibility underlined by such a demanding and high profile client. The NetCracker solution, says the company, will allow Sprint to manage network information, plan for growth, associate physical and logical resources and provide new services to its customers.
The NetCracker suite of products is designed to streamline the hosting and colocation design and provisioning processes. Web-based, and built on an open architecture, NetCracker solutions can integrate with OSS components, such as customer care, order management, trouble ticketing and provisioning and activation.
The flexible NetCracker interface, says the company, can be modified and customized to suit the business demands of the customer. The product will provide Sprint's E|Solutions with up-to-date information on its network infrastructure, across the enterprise.
