(usonyx.com -> usonyx.net -> exabytes.sg), a provider of affordable small business Web hosting solutions, announced on Monday that it would begin to offer a full suite of Linux-based virtual private server (VPS) hosting plans, designed to offer the company's growing customer base the industry's new lowest price point.
Based on the Virtuozzo (virtuozzo.com) technology, says USonyx, the company's VPS hosting plans provide a full set of applications, services, support and tools designed to meet the needs of small- to medium-sized businesses. The service, says the company, offers a functionality similar to dedicated hosting, for a price closer to that of shared hosting.
USonyx, says the company, was designed by Internet executives who recognized the gap in service for SMB customers. ?It's either low-price shared environments with highly restrictive features or expensive dedicated servers that run idle most of the time,? says Carlos Flores, general manager, USonyx. ?We have created a full suite of reliable, flexible VPS hosting plans ? made possible by Virtuozzo ? and priced them significantly lower than the competition, without compromising service levels. We feel this gives us a strong competitive advantage and allows us to better serve the needs of the SMB.?
USonyx has partnered with SWsoft to implement the Virtuozzo system on Intel-based Dell hardware. The platform allows the company to keep its IT and operations costs low, and to pass these cost savings on to the customer.
The USonyx VPS plans, says the company, provide more features than shared hosting for a similar price, and a cost savings of 90 percent versus dedicated hosting. The company says it is offering its fully-isolated VPS environment for under $35 per month. And USonyx resellers get VPS hosting capabilities that can be re-branded to fit their company look and feel for $19 per month.
In addition to its VPS pland, USonyx also offers basic and advanced shared hosting, as well as a range of applications and services, designed to be provisioned on the fly. USonyx says it allows customers to ?lease? a range of applications, including Web mail, e-commerce and other services.
