May, 2002 : VeriCenter Introduces Continuity and Recovery Services

📅 - Enterprise managed service provider VeriCenter Inc. (vericenter.com) announced on Tuesday that it has released a suite of business continuity and disaster recovery services designed to meet the growing need for protection of critical systems against unplanned interruptions.

VeriCenter says its RecoveryCenter service offers a range of solutions that ensures transaction integrity, data access and application availability. The services extend VeriCenter's expertise beyond its core OpCenter managed services suite to meet increasing demands for continuous availability.
"We learned from 9/11 and the Allison flood in Houston, that current Disaster Recovery solutions are inadequate because they depend on the availability of airports to fly employees to an alternate site," says Mike Sullivan, VeriCenter's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We focused our efforts on designing a set of solutions that resolve the inherent flaws in the current plans at a price range that is affordable for companies."
According to VeriCenter, the company's data center facility and team of engineers provide the foundation for a set of three disaster recovery and business continuity service offerings.
VeriCenter's HotSite RecoveryCenter service provides a fully redundant configuration replicating a customer's production systems, and mirroring it continuously, allowing for immediate recovery of system, data and application functionality. VeriCenter's WarmSite service provides some of the benefits of the HotSite service, periodically updating data and allowing prompt restoration in the event of a disaster. The company's ColdSite service provides access to the RecoveryCenter facilities for installation of systems and data in the event of a disaster, but does not include mirroring prior to the disaster.
