Jul 22, 2002 : Savvis Debuts Multi-Server 'Fast Pack'

📅 July 22, 2002 - Managed IP and managed hosting service provider Savvis Communications Corp. (savvis.com) said on Monday that it has enhanced its "Fast Pack" Intelligent Hosting Solutions to include multiple-server solution sets, while maintaining the 10-day provisioning schedule.

The multi-server offering, says Savvis, is geared toward enterprises that require more powerful hosting services. Customers can choose from a set of pre-designed server bundles without limiting the functionality required for enterprise-level services. The new multi-server Fast Pack service builds on the company's initial server solutions, which were geared toward companies migrating to dedicated server environments. Single-server Fast Pack can be installed in five days.
Savvis says the market for managed hosting is expected to grow from $7 billion in 2002 to over $24 billion in 2005, according to research organization IDC.
"Our vision of managed service delivery is quite different from that of other hosting providers," says Brad Hokamp, Savvis executive vice president of product management and sales. "By leveraging the intelligence in our systems and our automated processes, we're able to deliver fully managed hosting services and world class support to the enterprise in a far faster delivery timeframe and at a lower price."
