Jul, 2002 : IBM Expands Application Hosting Offering

📅 July 23, 2002 - IBM announced that it would expand its application hosting capabilities to include new solutions from SAP, Siebel Systems and IBM WebSphere. IBM's expanded service roster enables customers of all sizes to deploy applications faster and more cost effectively over the Internet.

With the introduction of application hosting for SAP, Siebel Systems and WebSphere Commerce, IBM has added a standardized delivery environment as an option for customers. The standardized option uses existing IBM infrastructure, personnel and management expertise to help businesses lower costs and eliminate the complexity inherent in deploying sophisticated software.
"Extending on its strategic relationships with SAP and Siebel, IBM is combining its unique level of expertise in Web hosting and critical business applications with a rich set of infrastructure services to deliver the most complete solution to customers," said Jim Corgel, general manager, IBM e-business Hosting. "Global implementation of these offerings, plus IBM Application Hosting for WebSphere, enables customers to deploy a common and consistent solution around the globe and experience the same level of quality support worldwide."
IBM Application Hosting Services provide businesses with an alternative to building and running their technology infrastructure in-house by tapping into computer systems in IBM data centers worldwide to provide sophisticated management of software applications.

Sex.com's lawsuit seeks to hold Network Solutions responsible for damages caused by the mismanagement of the domain name, the ownership of which was incorrectly transferred away from the company. Attorneys for Gary Kremen, founder and chief executive officer of Sex.com, argue that Network Solutions failed to make even a rudimentary attempt to verify a forged third-party letter requesting that the sex.com domain be transferred to Stephen Michael Cohen

(savvis.com) said on Monday that it has enhanced its "Fast Pack" Intelligent Hosting Solutions to include multiple-server solution sets, while maintaining the 10-day provisioning schedule.
