Oct 1, 2002 : VitalStream Partners with Sonic Foundry
📅 - Digital broadcasting solution provider VitaStream (VitalStream.com -> inap.com) said on Tuesday that it has partnered with digital media software solution company Sonic Foundry Inc. (sonicfoundry.com) to offer a corporate Web presentation solution.
By combining Sonic Foundry's technology with VitalStream's services, say the companies, customers will be able to create, distribute and archive rich media presentations without requiring expensive audio-visual production equipment or a technical staff.
The joint offering's core online Web presentation capabilities will be delivered by Sonic Foundry's MediaSite Live, a fully integrated system that provides everything needed to create and manage live and on-demand Web presentations, including the ability to capture and stream synchronized audio and video. Combined with VitalStream's Internet broadcasting infrastructure, the combined offering provides customers with a comprehensive streaming media solution.
"Webcasts and Web-based presentations are fast becoming the tool of choice for communicating with a distributed audience," says James Dias, vice president, strategic solutions and alliances at VitalStream. "However widespread and routine access to these capabilities by the average corporate communicator continues to be problematic. This partnership addresses the cost and complexity obstacles typically associated with Web media communications."
