📅 November 26, 2002 - E-commerce network operator Global eXchange Services Inc. (gxs.com) announced on Tuesday that it has been selected by Warner Home Video to provide e-commerce outsourcing services.

Through its Electronic Commerce Service Center, says GXS, the company will help Warner Home Video integrate proprietary internal systems with resource planning systems and extend efficiencies through online data transactions with trading partners.
GXS will also provide 24x7 transaction processing, tracking and reporting capabilities, deigned to improve customer satisfaction while freeing internal IT resources to focus on the company's core business.
"As the entertainment industry moves to adopt e-commerce technology at an increasing pace, companies that take the lead in digitizing supply chain processes will greatly improve their competitive position," said Harvey Seegers, president and CEO of GXS. "We are very pleased that one of the world's best-known entertainment companies has selected GXS to assist in implementing industry-leading e-business initiatives."
GXS says its EC Service Center enables companies to implement global supply chain transaction programs quickly and securely without additional investment in staff, software and hardware.

(genuity.com) announced last week that it has received a three-day extension from its lenders to complete negotiations to restructure the $2 billion in debt the company has been in default of since July. The company said last week that the extension with its creditors, including a group of banks and Verizon Communications runs until this Monday. The extension follows a ten-day extension granted November 11, and a two-week extension granted October 25. 📅 Nov 28, 2002 - Kaspersky Labs issues Internet worm warning - Kaspersky Labs (kaspersky.com) has issued a warning concerning a new Internet worm entitled "Winevar" (also known as "Korean Worm"). This malicious program was detected last week and was added to the Kaspersky Anti-Virus database. Winevar spreads through e-mail. An infected message can have different subjects, bodies and names of attached files. When the worm gets into a potential victim's e-mail box, it tries to penetrate the computer unnoticed, using the following vulnerabilities in the MS Internet Explorer security system. Having penetrated a system, the worm modifies Windows booting files to activate upon system restart and to initiate its spread.
