📅 - Digital broadcasting solutions provider VitalStream Inc. (VitalStream.com -> inap.com) announced on Tuesday that it has elected entertainment and broadcasting industry veteran Charlie Lyons to the company's board of directors.
Along with filmmaker Armyan Bernstein, says VitalStream, Lyons recently created and capitalized a new entertainment company, which will concentrate on film, television and other entertainment-related business. Walt Disney Studios recently announced a 5-year partnership with the venture for the creation and distribution of a number of films.
Lyons is the former chairman and founder of Ascent Entertainment, says VitalStream, where he built an enterprise whose assets include the NBA's Denver Nuggets, the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, Denver's Pepsi Center, On Command Video and Beacon Communications. He also served on the boards of the NBA and NHL, and was a founding board member of the Women's National Basketball Association.
"Charlie Lyons' accomplished background in the entertainment industry provides us with an added level of expertise to help VitalStream further establish itself as a leading streaming media solutions provider for the entertainment industry," said Paul Summers, VitalStream chief executive officer. "The addition of Charlie to our board comes as entertainment companies are looking to digital broadcasting as a secure distribution method and revenue source for their media properties."
