Feb, 2003 : Incognito Debuts Network Resource Commander
📅 - IP and DNS management solution developer Incognito Software (incognito.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched its Network Resource Commander (NRC) framework, a carrier-class network resource management solution supporting IP, DNS and name registration management.
The product, says Incognito, delivers a family of modular software products designed to streamline the management of large, distributed IP networks. The NRC framework delivers centralized and secure management of network resources, including DNS management, domain registration, IP address pool allocation, IP address registration, DHCP management and confirmation of multi-vendor network elements including DSLAMs and CMTs.
The first product released under the NRC framework, says Incognito, is Name Commander, a carrier-class DNS management solution that has already been successfully deployed at BT. According to Incognito, BT will be using Name Commander to manage internal and external customer DNS requirements and manage over 4 million DNS resource records.
"With almost a decade of DNS and IP experience, and by paying attention to client needs, we realized that larger service providers needed a massively scalable and modular product that allows them to centrally manage all of their network resources while allocating secure control to many different user groups," said Patricia Steadman, CEO and Co-founder of Incognito. ?The Network Resource Commander framework is truly unique in addressing these needs and helping large service providers reap greater profits from their network resources."
