Feb 4, 2003 : Sage Releases Provider Confidence Index

📅 - Market research firm Sage Research Inc. (sageresearch.com) announced on Monday that it has released the results of its January 2003 Service Provider Confidence Index (SPCI), showing a promising rise in confidence among service providers.

Attitudes toward current industry conditions, says Sage, rose significantly for the first time since the SPCI's inception in January of 2002. At the same time, providers' expectations for the future fell slightly, but remained in "high" territory.
Available through a free subscription from the company's Web site, says Sage, the SPCI is a bi-monthly gauge that measures and analyzes the current mood of telecommunications service providers. The SPCI is intended to demonstrate to the companies that sell products or solutions to service providers how their customers feel about industry conditions and what their near-term expectations are.
"The sharp upturn in the Current Conditions Index is a most welcome result of the current SPCI," said Chris Neal, a research director at Sage Research, Inc. "However, that index still remains well below 50?firmly in 'low' territory?and many of the sub-indices, particularly investor confidence and employment, continue to score poorly."
