Apr 24, 2003 : Burns Philp Signs Agreement with Equant
📅 - Equant (equant.com) announced today that it has signed a five-year contract to expand its services to Compañía Argentina de Levaduras S.A. (CALSA), a Burns Philp Group company (burnsphilp.com). Burns Philp is an international global yeast and natural food ingredients manufacturer with a significant presence in ten Latin American countries.
The new five-year agreement is an extension to the three-year agreement between Equant and CALSA signed in September 2002. Under that agreement, Equant delivered a customized Equant Frame Relay solution, including high-quality Internet access via IPSec over Equant Internet Direct. The new extension will increase the current frame relay bandwidth in four sites of the Hispano-American Network and expand Internet access to include all the network users. The agreement also calls for Equant to provide Internet access, managed firewall, remote dial access and professional services.
Because of the expansion of its own facilities and the acquisition of numerous complementary businesses, Burns Philp needed a secure, cost-effective telecommunications solution that would support the rollout of its 10-country Hispano-American network. The Group was looking for a network architecture that provided flexibility and a long-term platform for its growth-oriented business model.
?The existing strong relationship with Equant, based on its excellent work on our frame relay solution, was a key factor in our decision to expand the contract,? said Guillermo Cristobal, chief information officer of Burns Philp Hispano America. ?In addition, the tangible support from Equant's Professional Services teams was another element the competition could not match.?
