📅 - Digital River (digitalriver.com) today announced that it has signed an e-commerce agreement with Palm Europe Limited (palm.com/europe). Under the agreement, Digital River built nine new e-commerce sites to support Palm's online consumer business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In addition to launching and hosting the Palm sites, Digital River is providing order management, fraud protection, site merchandising, reporting, product fulfillment, e-marketing, multi-lingual customer service and value-added tax management.
?By leveraging its international e-commerce channels, Palm has been able to round out a whole product set for consumers of handheld computers, making it available 24X7 in five languages across Europe, the Middle East and Africa," said Jay Kerutis, president of Digital River's software and digital commerce services. "We can help Palm not only extend its international presence by providing a reliable infrastructure for its global e-commerce operation, but also increase its online sales by leveraging our e-marketing strategies and tools.?
Palm's nine international online consumer stores support sales in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Portugal and Greece. To accommodate these international markets, the sites are designed to display in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish and to transact in a combination of Euros and pounds sterling.
In addition to handheld computers, visitors to the sites will find accessories compatible with the Palm OS, including cases, covers, keyboards, chargers, cradles, books, videos and a selection of third-party software titles.
With offices in the US and UK, Digital River is an e-commerce provider that serves over 34,000 businesses worldwide.
