📅 - Apache (apache.org) and Microsoft (microsoft.com) continue to hold the largest share of the Web server market, according to Netcraft's (netcraft.com) June 2003 Web Server Survey. The monthly survey measures Web server software usage on Internet connected computers and featured results based on an aggregate pool of 40,936,076 sites.
According to the findings of the survey, 25,856,505 or 63.16 percent of the total server market is running on the Apache platform. This number represents a 0.63 percent increase from 62.53 percent for the previous month. Microsoft platforms were found to be running 10,992,195 servers. This number represented 26.85 percent of the market, a slight drop from May's 27.17 percent. Netcraft is an Internet services company based in Bath, England.
