Jul, 2003 : Gartner: HP is Leading Vendor of Servers

📅 July 29, 2003 - Hewlett-Packard (hp.com) is the leading vendor of servers worldwide with 29.5 percent unit market share for the second calendar quarter of 2003, according to preliminary results released on Monday by research firm Gartner DataQuest (gartner.com).

According to the report, HP ranked number one in five categories. The five categories were: server units shipped worldwide, Intel architecture server units shipped worldwide, all server units and Intel architecture server units shipped in EMEA, all server units and Intel architecture server units in the Asia-Pacific, and all server units and Intel architecture server units shipped in Latin America.
"HP's dedication to providing customers with innovative products and a clear roadmap to the future is reflected in HP's repeat performance of being number one," said Mark Hudson, vice-president of marketing at HP Enterprise Storage and Servers. "The data released today demonstrates that HP is executing on the promise of the merger to offer customers choice and flexibility for their IT resources."
HP is based in Palo Alto, California.
Gartner is a research and analysis firm based in Stamford, Connecticut.
