📅 - Hurricane Electric (he.net👉 Total Reviews: 1 🙌 Average Rating: 10 / 10 👍 Good Reviews: 1 👎 Bad Reviews: 0 👈 Official Responses: 0) announced yesterday the addition of Internet exchange points in the Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago areas through a partnership with Equinix, Inc. (equinix.com)
The company said the newly added exchange points will expand its national presence and create redundancies to Hurricane Electric's national network, while creating shorter packet routes to other networks. "We are working on expanding our network everyday," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. "Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago are all major metropolitan areas which are fundamental in the expansion of our network. Our customers benefit from the new exchange points with additional capacity and more direct routes." Hurricane Electric is offering full 100 Mbps Internet connections for $2,500 per month out of Equinix facilities in the three cities.

📅 - Global Colocation Capacity Seen Tripling to 213GW by 2031 - Structure Research estimates global colocation capacity will more than triple from 63.8GW in 2026 to 213.1GW by 2031, while sector revenue rises from $151.9 billion to $458.7 billion. Its new market ranking also shows a less orderly industry underneath that expansion, as AI demand, hyperscale self-build, power shortages and connectivity increasingly separate scale from maturity across markets.
The projections, contained in Structure Research's 2026 Global Data Centre Colocation & Interconnection Report, suggest an industry adding roughly 149GW of operational critical IT capacity within five years. That is an enormous amount of infrastructure. It also risks obscuring how unevenly the [...]
📅 - Equinix Expands Security Portfolio With Netskope Zero Trust - Equinix has added Netskope Private Access to its Network Edge marketplace, letting enterprises deploy the zero trust access service as a virtual network function close to existing interconnection points. The integration targets companies trying to reduce VPN appliances and traffic detours, although it also gives network teams another software dependency to operate across complicated hybrid infrastructure estates.
The service was made generally available with Equinix Network Edge release 2026.7 on July 15, although Equinix highlighted the availability again in an August 19 community update. Netskope Private Access can now be deployed alongside other virtual routers, firewalls and network [...]
📅 - Equinix Signs Fourth Singapore Solar PPA With Flo Energy - Equinix has signed its fourth renewable power agreement in Singapore in two years, securing at least 11.5 MWp of rooftop solar capacity from Flo Energy with an option to expand to 50 MWp. The deal deepens Equinix's local renewable supply as Singapore's data center market confronts tight land, grid capacity, and rising electricity demand from AI infrastructure.
For Equinix, the agreement is less about one solar contract than the problem of expanding digital infrastructure in a city state where power has become a strategic constraint. The company expects its Singapore renewable energy portfolio to reach 215 MWp by 2028, with its agreements collectively generating about 250,000 MWh [...]
📅 - Hurricane Electric Adds Manila PoP as Network Demand Builds - Hurricane Electric has added a network point of presence at STT Makati in Metro Manila, giving customers at the facility direct access to its global IPv4 and IPv6 backbone over 1, 10 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet connections. The deployment adds another international routing option in a Philippine market absorbing heavier cloud, fintech, streaming and AI traffic loads.
For infrastructure buyers, the more relevant detail is not another pin on a backbone map. It is route choice. Enterprises, carriers and service providers already operating from STT Makati can establish direct connectivity into Hurricane Electric rather than depending entirely on existing upstream paths. That can create options [...]
📅 - Equinix Reports Record Bookings and Higher AI Infrastructure Demand - Global data center colocation and interconnection firm Equinix delivered stronger-than-expected second-quarter growth, lifted its financial guidance for 2026 and raised long-term targets through 2029 as enterprise demand for AI, cloud connectivity and digital infrastructure continued accelerating. The data center operator also reported record interconnection growth and one of its strongest booking quarters, reinforcing confidence that customer investment remains broad-based despite persistent capacity constraints.
The AI infrastructure market continues producing a familiar pattern. GPU demand dominates headlines, yet the companies enabling connectivity between enterprises, cloud providers [...]
