Sep, 2003 : WebCentral Introduces Managed Exchange 2003 Services

webcentral.au logo📅 - Australian Web hosting provider WebCentral (webcentral.com.au) yesterday introduced support for Managed Exchange 2003, a managed application the company said will give small and medium-sized businesses access to corporate e-mail tools.

Managed Exchange 2003 is based on the soon-to-be-released Microsoft Exchange 2003 and is available to businesses on a month-to-month basis.
"This new version of Managed Exchange will radically change the way that SMEs use their e-mail," said Lloyd Ernst, CEO of WebCentral. "The access options available through Managed Exchange 2003 provide immense flexibility for businesses. It's an affordable product that transforms Microsoft Outlook into a set of business tools that enable staff to do much more than just use e-mail. Staff can now work together more effectively by centrally sharing important information in their contacts and calendars...[and] staff can access their e-mail, calendar and contacts anywhere, anytime from a wide range of devices including desktop PCs, laptops, GPRS-enabled PDAs and even Internet kiosks.?
The company said Managed Exchange 2003 removes most of the administration involved with running a corporate exchange server.
WebCentral provides 24x7 support and security for the system, in addition to virus management, server maintenance and administration, software patching and upgrades.
Ernst added that for small businesses, deploying Exchange 2003 will eliminate long-term conract commitments and reduce the capital outlay required for running an Exchange system in?house.
According to WebCentral almost 200 companies deploy Managed Exchange 2003 with the firm.
