Oct, 2003 : Equinix to Host Macromedia's IT Infrastructure

📅 October 14, 2003 - Equinix (equinix.com), a provider of data center facilities, said Monday Macromedia (macromedia.com), a well-known provider of Web development software solutions, had chosen Equinix to host its IT infrastructure for the delivery of its Web site and Internet application tools.

Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Macromedia will locate within Equinix's network?neutral Silicon Valley Internet Business ExchangeT (IBX) center.
"We require a provider with high-quality centers and access to multiple network providers, and Equinix's network-rich centers give us the best overall solution for the distribution of our interactive services," said Robert Urwiler, vice president and chief information officer of Macromedia. "By locating operations within Equinix's neutral Internet hub, we can reach all of the world's major networks, while greatly reducing our connectivity costs and also, maintaining the flexibility to expand our operations quickly and easily so we can better serve our customers."
The company said its network-neutral facility would allow Macromedia to grow its operations while reducing the costs of linking to partners in multiple locations.
