😁 For that amount of money JVMhost.com is really perfect. I have been with them for not too long, but already in love. Their plans are user-friendly and easy to use, provided with all needed features for developers needs. We haven't really encountered troubles connected with the stability or performance of servers, so from the technical side they are ok. Their tech support is beyond compare - my questions are resolved swiftly, therefore my experience with them has been extraordinary! I don't have any reasons to complain and would definitely recommend JVMhost.com.

(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain RegistrationJVM Host is a small, specialist hosting provider focused almost entirely on Java application hosting. The brand has been active since around 2010, operating as a web hosting division of Almanox Ltd ( almanox.com ), a private company based in London, UK. Rather than trying to cover every possible hosting niche, they concentrate on Java and related technologies, offering environments that suit developers running Tomcat, GlassFish, WildFly, Spring Boot, Liferay, OpenGTS and many other JVM-based stacks.
The core of the portfolio is the Shared Java Hosting line with private JVM. Plans such as Tomcat, Tomcat Plus, Tomcat Premium and Tomcat Enterprise run from 128 MB up to 1 GB of heap memory, each with 10 GB SSD storage and 1 TB monthly bandwidth. There are also specialized variants like Cyclos Preinstalled, plus options for Jetty, JBoss, Resin, Geronimo and GlassFish, all on the same underlying shared platform. Every shared plan includes a dedicated JVM, popular SQL engines (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Express), free SSL certificates, SSH access and a long list of developer tools from Git/SVN/Mercurial to multiple PHP, Python and Node.js versions.
Above the shared tier, JVM Host offers Cloud Java Hosting and Xen VPS plans for heavier workloads. Cloud plans (Cloud-1 through Cloud-8) combine 1 vCPU with 256 MB to 8 GB RAM, SSD storage from 10 GB to 160 GB and traffic from 100 GB up to 1.6 TB. These are aimed at developers who want a dedicated JVM plus more isolation and resources without fully managing everything themselves. The Xen VPS range (XEN-512 to XEN-8192) moves into classic VPS territory: more RAM (up to 8 GB), higher SSD allocations and traffic up to 8 TB, with root access, SolusVM console and optional cPanel or other control panels. On VPS, Java and supporting software (JDK, application server, SQL server, mail server, etc.) can be preinstalled, but day-to-day system administration remains the customer’s responsibility.
For projects that outgrow VPS, JVM Host also maintains dedicated Java servers. These use enterprise-grade Supermicro hardware with multiple cores, SSD or SSD+HDD storage, RAID and redundant components. Dedicated customers can ask for preinstallation of JDK, application servers, databases and extras such as CloudLinux, KernelCare or security add-ons like BitNinja. The same Java stack flexibility is present here as on smaller plans, but with more predictable performance and the ability to tailor the operating system and software stack more deeply.
Across all hosting types, JVM Host invests heavily in Java-specific tooling. A custom Java Control Panel (JCP) sits alongside cPanel on shared environments, allowing customers to switch JDK versions, choose between Tomcat, TomEE, JBoss, WildFly, GlassFish, Jetty and others, and tweak heap memory or application server configuration. The platform supports a broad range of frameworks and libraries (Spring, JSF, PrimeFaces, Struts, ZK, Tapestry, WebSockets and many more), which makes it attractive for developers who need more than a generic PHP shared host. The client portal is available in several languages (English, French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish), which helps international customers manage billing and tickets more comfortably.
An additional observation concerning JVM Host emerges from WHTop’s pricing monitoring. Their Tomcat (shared hosting) plans, VPS offerings, and dedicated server packages have retained the same plan names, feature sets, and pricing since July 2020. Such long-term uniformity may be interpreted as an indicator of limited product iteration and strategic stagnation, suggesting that the company has likely undergone minimal service evolution in recent years.
Overall, JVM Host is a focused Java-oriented boutique provider: small enough to be hands-on, but with a reasonably complete line-up from shared JVM accounts through cloud and VPS to dedicated servers, domain registration and SSL certificates.
💰 Price & Cost
Pricing is positioned in the low-to-mid range for specialized Java hosting. Shared Java hosting starts at around $7.95/month for entry-level Tomcat or Jetty plans and goes up to about $35.95/month for the top Tomcat Enterprise tier with 1 GB heap. The Cyclos-preinstalled option sits in the middle of the range. All of these include SSD storage, 1 TB bandwidth, unlimited domains and free SSL, so costs are predictable for most small and medium Java sites.
Cloud Java Hosting plans range from $9.95/month (Cloud-1) up to $79.00/month (Cloud-8), scaling RAM from 256 MB to 8 GB and SSD storage from 10 GB to 160 GB. The Xen VPS line starts at $19.95/month for XEN-512 and goes up to about $79.00/month for XEN-8192, with traffic limits between 512 GB and 8 TB. Dedicated servers begin around $100/month, with higher configurations priced above that depending on CPU, storage and add-ons. For most hosting categories, semi-annual and annual terms carry approximately 5% and 10% discounts built into the displayed prices.
New customers can make use of a 30-day trial for shared Java hosting, where a $0.50 verification fee unlocks a month-long test of the platform. On the formal refund side, JVM Host applies a 15-day money-back window for basic hosting services. Domains, SSL certificates and similar third-party items are generally non-refundable, and cancellations after the 15-day period do not receive pro-rated refunds, so this is a host where you want to test early and decide quickly.
Billing is handled in U.S. dollars using an older version of HostBill software ( hostbillapp.com ) . The billing system supports PayPal and credit/debit cards via 2Checkout, and for some customers and regions the team can arrange wire transfers, Western Union or Moneybookers/Skrill for semi-annual or annual payments. That mix makes it possible to pay from most countries, even in cases where local cards or online payments are limited.
🏢 Data Center
JVM Host runs its infrastructure in Tier III / Tier III+ data centers with a clear focus on reliability rather than bare-bones cost cutting. The platform uses enterprise-grade Supermicro servers, SSD storage, RAID configurations and redundant power with UPS and backup generators to protect against outages. The technology stack includes a customized Apache web server, Web Application Firewall features and a dedicated JVM watchdog to monitor Java processes. Unfortunately there is not clear location of datacenter.
From a service-level perspective, JVM Host commits to a formal 99.95% uptime guarantee across shared, cloud, VPS and dedicated services. When availability in a given month falls below that threshold (excluding standard SLA exceptions such as scheduled maintenance, upstream network issues or customer-caused problems), customers can claim service credits, with 5% of the monthly fee credited for each additional 30 minutes of downtime up to a maximum of the monthly fee. Uptime is measured on the provider’s side and credits are applied to future invoices.
Beyond the SLA, the shared, cloud and VPS pages underline 24/7 monitoring, courtesy weekly and monthly backups, Borg backup integration on shared platforms and options for custom backup space on dedicated servers. The actual geographic locations of the data centers are not prominently promoted on the main site, but the operational emphasis is clearly on steady availability and protective layers (monitoring, backups, UPS and generator power) rather than budget infrastructures.
✍️ Customer Support
Support is organized around a relatively small, technically focused team. Customers can reach JVM Host via support tickets, e-mail, live chat and a phone line, with the portal navigation and plan pages prominently showing all these channels. Orders that pass risk checks are activated almost instantly, and ongoing issues are handled through the ticket system, which is the main channel for more complex technical questions.
The public site and portal host a reasonably detailed knowledge base, where articles cover billing, control panel access, domain transfers, payment methods and common operational tasks. For Java-specific topics, there are also articles and tutorials accessible from the main site. Feedback quoted on the shared and VPS pages repeatedly praises the technical depth and practical help during Java framework deployment, which is consistent with a provider built by and for developers.
While official support hours are not spelled out, the combination of 24/7 system monitoring, rapid activation and a global customer base implies coverage that extends beyond strict business hours. For customers who prefer to communicate in their own language, the multi-language client portal (English, French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish) also makes everyday interactions with billing and tickets more comfortable.
🔨 Control Panel
On shared Java hosting, JVM Host uses cPanel as the primary control panel, with all the usual features: management of domains and subdomains, email accounts and webmail, databases, file manager, FTP, custom PHP settings, cron jobs and access logs. Unlimited domains, mailboxes and databases are standard on these plans, which gives Java developers room to run multiple projects from a single account.
What differentiates the platform is the custom Java Control Panel (JCP) that sits alongside cPanel. Through JCP, customers can select and switch JDK versions (Oracle and OpenJDK), choose between Tomcat/TomEE, JBoss/WildFly, GlassFish/Payara, Jetty, Geronimo and other application servers, adjust heap settings (with the option to buy extra heap in 256 MB increments) and redeploy or restart applications. For many frameworks (Spring, JSF, PrimeFaces, etc.), this kind of control panel significantly reduces the friction of deployment compared to a generic shared host.
On VPS hosting, customers manage the virtual machine through SolusVM, with full root access. JVM Host can preinstall the Java stack and common services, but ongoing OS-level configuration is in the customer’s hands. A cPanel license can be added to VPS plans (and is sometimes bundled for larger configurations during promotions), while alternatives like DirectAdmin are available on request. Dedicated servers mirror this flexibility, with options to add cPanel/WHM, CloudLinux and other commercial components as needed.
For developers comfortable with server administration, the combination of cPanel (or alternative panels), SolusVM and the Java Control Panel gives a lot of control without forcing a proprietary, locked-down environment.
🎯 Conclusion
JVM Host suits a particular profile of customer very well: teams and developers who are serious about Java and want a host that understands Tomcat, GlassFish, WildFly, Spring Boot, Liferay and similar stacks in depth. The combination of private JVM on every plan, a custom Java Control Panel, SSD-backed storage, 24/7 monitoring and a clearly documented 99.95% uptime SLA adds up to an environment that is more specialized than the average shared hosting provider. Pricing is reasonable for the niche, and the 30-day low-cost trial plus 15-day refund window provide a safety net for initial testing. On the other hand, JVM Host is not the most obvious choice for someone who just wants a cheap WordPress blog or a drag-and-drop site builder. The focus is Java, and the documentation, tooling and plan structure reflect that. Some corporate background details and data center locations are not heavily promoted, and the small-provider nature means there is less "big-brand" marketing polish than with larger hosts.
For developers and organizations who value Java expertise, flexible application server choices and a control-panel-driven approach to JVM management, JVM Host remains an appealing option. For purely generic hosting needs or for customers who are uncomfortable with Java concepts and occasional server-side configuration, other mainstream providers may feel more straightforward.

😁 really cheap host with good support
package: tomcat
price: $6.35 (with discount)
uptime: 76 days / 100%
I was approached by a chat operator right after entering the site. I left him on stanby while I browsed the site, and then asked a few questions. I took the trial for $0.50 and the account was setup instantly. They have custom JVM/appserver control panel that helps much. I can recommend trying this provider. Also by upgrading to regular package in June 2011 I got free 32MB heap addon. Nice :)
