Founded by the Carbonite co-founders, David Friend and Jeff Flowers, Wasabi has been around since 20017. Ever since, Wasabi has been using Hot Cloud Storage. They claim that they are leading-edge cloud technology in the industry.
The Wasabi plans are configured on a private network and optimized for high speed. They claim that they do not compute and do not provide CDN/machine learning/business analytics, but they mainly specialize on storage.
Wasabi adopted the S3 interface which means that products are S3-compliant for apps. They offer only one tier of storage and encrypt data in transit. You can choose their Pay-as-you-go storage which starts from $.0059/GB per month. Their Reserved Capacity Storage plan includes premium support.
The Pay-as-you-go storage is a public cloud storage that does not require a lengthy subscription. This involves 90-day minimum storage duration.
The Wasabi Reserved Capacity Storage (RCS) is also a public cloud object storage that can be purchased for 1, 3 or 5 years.
💰 Price & Cost
They claim that their prices are 80% less than AQS S3 and do not include egress or API request charges. At the same time, Wasabi promises low-cost products and they keep to their word, although there are other companies that offer even lower prices. There is no clear refund policy stated on their page.
