📄 Editorial Review
(3*) 🔧 Services: Web HostingDomain RegistrationSSL CertificatesWordPress ICANN registrarGNAME is a Singapore-based, internationally focused domain registrar that has grown into a broader cloud and hosting platform. They position themselves first and foremost as a professional domain name registrar, offering global domain registration, backorder/dropcatch, auctions, "buy it now" marketplace, and a full reseller/API ecosystem. On top of this, they have built a portfolio of cloud products, including web hosting, VPS hosting, security services, CDN, professional email, SSL certificates, and WordPress website creation tools.
The brand is operated by GNAME.COM PTE. LTD., established in Singapore and marketed as a "well-known domain registrar" with more than 100,000 users and many resellers. Their philosophy is strongly customer-centric: they repeatedly emphasize "customer first," win-win cooperation with partners, and 24/7 service support. The platform clearly targets both individual domain investors and businesses who need an integrated place to manage a large domain and hosting portfolio.
On the domain side, GNAME handles classic registration (including bulk and "free registration" promotions), transfers, renewals, and WHOIS management. They support premium domain sales, backorders and auctions, and provide a domain broker service for higher-value names. Resellers can operate via a one-stop system that unifies product catalog, transactions, finance, and sub-account management. The platform also supports an API so that registrars, resellers or portfolio owners can tightly integrate domain management into their own systems.
For hosting, GNAME offers three shared web hosting plans (Basic, Professional, Advanced) aimed at small blogs up to multi-site, higher-traffic projects. All plans use SSD storage, include one free domain, free SSL, a bundled hosting control panel, unmetered DDoS protection, and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. They market "greater than 99.99% uptime" and "up to 3x faster load times," with all-flash SSD arrays, global data centers, and integrated tools for file management, databases, logs, and resource monitoring. This line is clearly designed for users who want traditional shared hosting with extras like one-click WordPress installation.
Their VPS hosting (cloud servers) is split into several series: A-Series and G-Series "universal" cloud servers and S-Series "economy" cloud servers. These virtual servers are available in many global locations (Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, US East and West, UK, Germany) and support both Linux and Windows images. GNAME highlights enterprise-grade security (network ACLs, security groups), flexible scaling (modular upgrades for compute, storage, bandwidth), and multiple line types (e.g. general, international, CN2, premium lines for S-Series). The S-Series also includes snapshot and backup options, and is commonly used for station clusters and high-traffic sites that need cost-efficient capacity.
Beyond core hosting, GNAME sells a range of security and performance services. "Website Protection" is a WAF/CDN-style product focused on keeping sites online during attacks or traffic spikes. "IP Protection" provides DDoS-protected IP addresses for TCP/UDP applications, with flat-fee bandwidth and unmetered DDoS defense. "CDN Acceleration" is pitched as a high-security, high-defense CDN that integrates DNS, global acceleration, free SSL, and DDoS protection—particularly tuned for WordPress-based sites.
Their WordPress Website Creation service is a template-driven, DIY website builder on top of WordPress, backed by a global footprint of more than 28 data centers across six continents. It integrates CDN, WAF, free SSL, DDoS protection, and responsive templates, and is aimed at users who want a managed WordPress stack rather than raw hosting. Professional Email provides business-class email accounts with encryption, anti-spam and high deliverability at very low entry pricing. SSL certificates and domain-related security features round out the offer, giving customers a full stack from domain purchase through hosting, security and email.
The overall impression is that GNAME is strongest as a domain and portfolio platform, with cloud hosting and security services built around that core. For users who need both domain trading tools and multi-region hosting in one place, the platform is particularly attractive.
💰 Price & Cost
GNAME prices most services in US dollars on the international site, while supporting a wide range of payment methods and regional e-wallets. Domain registrations are competitive: promotional examples include .COM from around $9.30 for the first year, .CC from about $4.70, .TOP around $4.58, .XYZ around $6.00, .VIP from roughly $6.38 and .NET from around $13.85 for the first year, with a broader price list available in their domain pricing section.
Shared web hosting is offered in three plans:
- Basic – Around $15.00/month (discounted from $30.00). Includes 25 GB SSD storage, 512 MB memory, 100 GB monthly bandwidth, 1 website, 1 database, one-click WordPress install, one free domain, free SSL, hosting control panel, unmetered DDoS protection, 99.9% uptime guarantee and access to global data centers.
- Professional – Around $25.00/month (discounted from $50.00). Provides 50 GB SSD, 1 GB memory, 500 GB monthly bandwidth, up to 10 websites and 10 databases, free domain and SSL, plus the same control panel, DDoS protection and uptime guarantee. This tier targets small to medium business sites.
- Advanced – Around $50.00/month (discounted from $100.00). Offers 75 GB SSD, 2 GB memory, 1024 GB monthly bandwidth, up to 25 websites and 25 databases, free domain and SSL, and the same global platform. This is clearly aimed at multi-site portfolios and more demanding or high-traffic projects.
VPS hosting uses a more configurable pricing model. Different series (A, G, S) and regions have their own resource bundles and bandwidth models: some offer dedicated bandwidth with unlimited traffic; others provide unmetered bandwidth but monthly traffic caps. Public IPs are add-on resources. While headline pricing varies by configuration, marketing material for the VPS line shows entry-level pricing starting in the low- to mid-tens of dollars per month (for example, in some pages VPS hosting is promoted "from about $22–23 per month"). Customers are expected to design their own configuration through the cloud products interface.
Security and add-on products also have published starting prices:
- SSL Certificates from about $14.70/year and up.
- Website Protection (WAF/CDN security layer) from about $25.00/month.
- Professional Email from only $1.00/month and up.
- IP Protection with DDoS defense is much more premium, with "Basic Edition" and "Professional Edition" showing day-trial pricing above $100 per day and longer terms (1 month to 3 years) with volume discounts.
On refunds and money-back policies, GNAME is strict. Domain registrations are not refundable once successfully registered, and renewals generally cannot be refunded once completed. For some processes like domain backorders, deposits are refunded if the dropcatch fails, but not if the user wins and then fails to pay. For cloud servers and many other "sold" services, sales terms explicitly state that once the product or service has been sold, no refund is supported. More generic membership terms say that details of refund policies should be confirmed with online customer service, but there is no broad "30-day money-back guarantee" or similar marketing promise.
Payment options are a strong point: GNAME supports major credit cards, PayPal, bank wire transfer, Alipay, cryptocurrency payments, and a rich Alipay+ wallet ecosystem. The Alipay+ integration allows local currency settlement through wallets such as AlipayHK, TNG eWallet and Boost in Malaysia, GCash and Billease in the Philippines, DANA and Kredivo in Indonesia, and TrueMoney, Rabbit LINE Pay and K PLUS in Thailand, among others. This makes the platform accessible for customers across Asia and beyond.
Overall, pricing for domains and shared hosting is competitive, while security and high-end IP protection services are priced at a premium level consistent with enterprise DDoS protection. The lack of a generous money-back guarantee, however, means customers should choose carefully and understand refund rules before committing.
🏢 Data Center
GNAME is built around a global infrastructure footprint designed to serve both domain and hosting customers worldwide. For web hosting, they highlight "global data centers" in major regions across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, backed by all-flash SSD storage arrays. Marketing material claims "greater than 99.99% uptime" and up to three times faster load times, with unmetered, always-on DDoS protection that can detect terabit-scale anomalies and trigger protection protocols. At the plan feature level, shared hosting includes a 99.9% uptime guarantee, which is the more conservative figure customers should rely on.
For VPS hosting, GNAME provides quite granular location choices. A-Series and G-Series cloud servers are available in:
- Asia: Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan (Tokyo), Korea (Seoul), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Indonesia (Jakarta), Thailand (Bangkok)
- North America: USA (Virginia, Silicon Valley/California, Los Angeles)
- Europe: United Kingdom (London), Germany (Frankfurt)
S-Series "economy" cloud servers focus on key hubs like Hong Kong, Singapore and Silicon Valley, with multiple line types including general, international, CN2 and premium lines in Hong Kong, and premium lines in Singapore and Silicon Valley. Outbound bandwidth is typically unlimited traffic, with public IPs scalable per configuration.
The WordPress Website Creation platform is explicitly backed by 28+ data centers across six continents, combined with a global CDN network. This architecture is used to promise fast loading times regardless of user location and integrates with free SSL, high-defense DNS and DDoS protection.
For IP Protection and Website Protection (WAF/CDN), GNAME leverages a global threat-prevention and acceleration network to keep sites available during attacks and traffic spikes. IP Protection includes guaranteed bandwidth per protected IP, unmetered DDoS protection, and support for IPv4/IPv6 across TCP and UDP applications.
GNAME present a cloud-style, globally distributed architecture. For most customers, the key benefits are wide regional choice, integrated DDoS defense, and a clear uptime guarantee on web hosting.
✍️ Customer Support
Customer support is a central marketing pillar for GNAME. They promise 24/7 service and "customer-first" support, with multiple channels:
- 24-hour service hotline based in Singapore: +65-65189986
- Online chat integrated into the site, marked as 24-hour support
- A ticket system with "Submit Ticket" and "My Ticket" sections for more structured issues
- A callback service where users can request a phone call in their preferred time zone
- Email contacts for service support, technical support and business cooperation
- A dedicated abuse reporting system for domain-related abuse and policy violations
The Help Center is extensive, with sections on account management, finance, domain registration and management, domain dropcatch, marketplace usage, and cloud products like VPS, web hosting, SSL, Website Protection, Professional Email, IP Protection, WordPress Website Creation and aaPanel. Articles cover practical topics such as how to download a browser on a VPS, configuring network cards and auxiliary IP routes, daily server security practices, and how to prevent data leaks or attacks on servers.
GNAME also runs a News Center and resource hub with tutorials and blog-style content about domains, branding, VPS vs dedicated hosting and more, which helps users understand the products they are buying. For domain abuse and security issues, they maintain a separate abuse portal with categorized reporting options (illegal content, fraud, infringement, etc.), further underlining their intent to stay compliant and responsive.
In practice, this combination of live chat, 24/7 hotline, tickets, callback, and detailed documentation should be attractive to both technical users and less experienced customers. The strong emphasis on resellers and heavy domain users suggests that GNAME is used to dealing with more complex, portfolio-style problems, not only simple single-site questions.
🔨 Control Panel
For domains, GNAME offers a comprehensive web-based control panel. From a single interface, customers can:
- Register, renew and transfer domains (including bulk operations)
- Manage contact templates and WHOIS information
- Use PUSH to move domains between accounts
- Configure DNS and domain resolution
- Manage backorders and auctions, including watchlists, bidding, and results
- Operate a seller/buyer workflow with "My Domains for Sale," "My Purchases," "Domains Sold," "Buy It Now" listings, and shop settings
- Access financial functions like recharge, invoices, coupons, renewal center and held funds
For hosting, the shared web hosting plans include a Hosting Control Panel that handles website management, file upload, database creation, and performance monitoring. The web hosting workflow is clearly laid out: add website, upload files, configure databases, verify site access and then use an integrated dashboard to monitor traffic, memory, CPU and other metrics.
GNAME also provides server management tools under "Server Tools":
- aaPanel, a popular open-source server control panel that simplifies LAMP/LEMP stack management, is offered as a cloud product option.
- GMSSH Panel, a proprietary cross-platform server management tool built on SSH tunneling, offers a graphical way to manage Linux servers, handle complex operations safely, and unify server tasks.
Together, these tools cover the needs of users from simple shared hosting through to full VPS administration. The integration of domain, hosting, security, and email under one login is one of GNAME’s practical strengths, especially for resellers and domain investors with many assets.
🎯 Conclusion
GNAME stands out primarily as a domain-centric platform that has expanded into a multi-service cloud ecosystem. For users who prioritize domain registration, backorder, auctions and marketplace activities, the platform is particularly compelling: it combines competitive pricing, a large set of TLDs, bulk operations, reseller tools, API access, and a strong focus on security and abuse handling. The web hosting offer is modern and straightforward, with SSD storage, free domains and SSL, DDoS protection, and a global infrastructure that should comfortably support typical small and medium websites. VPS hosting is flexible and geographically diverse, with multiple series and line types aimed at different performance and budget needs. Security products like Website Protection, IP Protection and CDN Acceleration are clearly designed for more demanding or security-sensitive workloads.
On the downside, GNAME’s refund and money-back posture is strict. Domains are not refundable once registered, renewals are essentially final, and many cloud products and sales are marked as non-refundable once purchased. There is no broad, promotional "30-day money-back guarantee," which means that cautious buyers should start with smaller commitments or shorter billing cycles until they are comfortable.
In summary, GNAME is best suited to:
- Domain investors and resellers wanting a powerful, integrated platform
- Businesses that want to centralize domains, hosting, security and email under one provider
- Users who value 24/7 support, multi-region infrastructure and strong domain-related tooling
It is less ideal for customers who place a high value on flexible, no-questions-asked refund policies. For those comfortable with more rigid terms, GNAME offers a capable, global, domain-driven hosting and cloud environment.

😠 Gname service is disgusting. It supports scammers in task scams
My friend mistakenly took task scams and her funds got frozen in an account. As it was a scam, she couldn't contact the administrator. So she mailed gname as they are the registrar.
1. At first, she mailed her details to gname, for what gname responded to report in abuse, but the link was not working.
2. The scammers site has redirect service with gname, so she mailed again to contact the web admin with all the details she had.
What she had in return?
Her internal link alone blocked with all the frozen assets. But the same scam group still conduct task scam with scammers and ignorant people.
Why established domain registrars support scammers like this? It's disgusting to see the responses.
