Dec, 2003 : DirectNIC Picks Comodo Instant SSL Certificates

📅 - Internet security specialist Comodo (comodogroup.com) announced earlier this week that it has entered into a partnership with Louisiana-based domain registrar directNIC to provide Instant SSL certificates to directNIC customers.

According to Comodo, the partnership with directNIC and the one announced in October with Web hosting provider Zipa (zipa.com), makes the entire Intercosmos Media Group distributors of Comodo's Instant SSL certificates.
"directNIC continues to be a leader in the domain registration industry by placing superior customer support and top notch services within the reach of everyone's budgets," said Sigmund Solares, CEO of Intercosmos Media Group. "With both directNIC and Zipa partnering with Comodo the path is set for all Intercosmos customers to obtain cost-effective certificates that don't compromise on quality or service."
Instant SSL was launched in March of 2002. It employs a two-step validation for all SSL certificates.
Comodo said it has signed 1,600 partnerships with e-commerce vendors since Instant SSL was launched.
"The decision by Intercosmos to partner with Comodo is a tremendous validation of our products and services" said Steve Roylance, technical marketing director for Comodo Group. "This partnership opens up a huge number of customers to the benefits of fully-validated SSL certificates, with a very positive knock-on effect on the trust and confidence placed by all Web users on e-transactions."
The Intercosmos Media Group operates both Zipa and directNIC and is based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
