Apr 7, 2004 : Opsware Expands to Japanese Market

📅 April 7, 2004 - Data center automation software developer Opsware (opsware.com) announced on Tuesday that it plans to establish an office in Tokyo, Japan, allowing it to service customers in the Japanese market. As part of the expansion, the San Jose-based company appointed Masahiro Nishimura as director of sales for Japan and Scott Kupor as vice president and general manager of international operations. Nishimura will direct Opsware's sales and channel development efforts in Japan.

"Opsware's presence in Japan will help us service the growing number of Japanese customers who are recognizing the value of IT automation," says Ben Horowitz, president and CEO of Opsware Inc. "The Asia-Pacific region is already proving to be a strong market for Opsware automation software as enterprises and service providers look to lower costs, improve IT productivity and offer unprecedented service guarantees."
The announcement comes on the heels of Opsware's recent achievements in Japan. Earlier this year, Japanese telco giant NTT chose Opsware to automate its hosting operations around the world. And in late 2003, Japanese computer manufacturer NEC became the first authorized distributor of Opsware software in Japan.
