Apr 28, 2004 : BT Deploys Zeus Traffic Tool

📅 - Internet infrastructure solutions provider Zeus Technology (zeus.com), announced Wednesday that BT Connect will deploy the new Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM), an application-centric traffic management tool.

BT's purchase of two pairs of ZXTMs comes just days after the product's official launch. The systems will be installed on Solaris boxes hosted at BT Connect's data center in Cardiff. The Extensible Traffic Manager is designed to bring new levels of functionality to the load balancing market, providing control, intelligence, security and resilience for application traffic. With its TrafficScript control language, deep content inspection, intelligent Web services routing and end-to-end traffic security, says Zeus, the Extensible Traffic Manager uses business logic to make traffic management decisions.
"We've used Zeus products extensively over the past eighteen months and have been impressed by their performance," said Neil Parsons, Systems Infrastructure Manager at BT Connect. "Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager's capabilities, in particular its ability to terminate SSL enabling us toreduce development costs, were key reasons for our choice."
BT Openworld services more than 100,000 users on the BT Connect platform.
