📅 - Independent organization Geek Certified (geekcertified.com) announced this week that it has released its "Host's Pledge" and the "Client's Pledge," advocating a willingness among hosting clients and providers to be respectful and fair on the Internet.
"We want to create a gateway for Web hosts to let their clients know that they are conscious about their business practices," says Geek Certified founder Danny Garon. "In addition, we want to allow hosts to let their clients know that they require respectful and fair treatment." Hosts that would like to participate in the host's pledge can place a special logo on their site. Companies can also ask their clients to participate in the pledge by requesting that they check a box upon signup next to the "client's pledge" logo, and linking it to the client's pledge page. While hosts are not required to be Geek Certified to participate in the pledge program, it is encouraged.
