Apr 12, 2005 : ActiveGrid Releases Application Server

📅 April 12, 2005 - Open source software company ActiveGrid (activegrid.com) announced on Monday that it had released the early-access release of ActiveGrid Application Builder and Grid Application Server, the latest generation of its enterprise application server.
The ActiveGrid platform is built on the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python/Perl) software stack and is designed to scale business applications across horizontal grids of commodity computers. ActiveGrid says the platform accelerates application development, reduces costs, and enables customization at runtime. "ActiveGrid is excited to provide leading-edge technologies to corporate and independent developers," says Peter Yared, founder and CEO of ActiveGrid. "After almost two years of development, we feel our early-access release will give developers an opportunity to rapidly develop applications on the LAMP platform." The ActiveGrid platform is available for download under Apache Software License 2.0.
