Bird On A Wire selects StorageASP for advanced data protection


📅 - StorageASP Inc. (storageasp.com), an outsourced data protection serviceprovider, and Bird On A Wire Networks Inc. (boaw.net), a leadingCanadian provider of managed hosting services for mission critical Internetapplications, announced a partnership agreement that will make StorageASP'sadvanced data protection services available to Bird On A Wire customers.
StorageASP will locate its Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure andTERA-Back service at Bird On A Wire Networks' Tier-1 managed hostingfacility in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario. Regardless of their size,managed hosting and co-location clients at Bird On a Wire Networks willreceive fully automated, on-demand, and scheduled backup and data recoveryservices. The service will support a range of operating systems anddatabases from one common infrastructure, allowing backup of live databaseson a fully scalable platform and assuring high availability and businesscontinuance.

StorageASP's TERA-Back service implements hardware and software componentsfrom industry-leading vendors, including Legato's NetWorker softwareplatform, Legato* GEMS* SmartMedia* data protection software solutions, SunMicrosystems Enterprise E250 Servers, ADIC Scalar 1000 Tape Libraries, andBrocade Fibre Channel Switches.
StorageASP will cater its service level agreement (SLA) to Bird On A Wireservice levels to ensure Bird On A Wire Networks clients a uniform level ofservice. The service will be available on a "pay as you grow" basiscommencing in May 2001.
