Airgas Chooses Infocrossing to Provide Managed Hosting for e-Commerce Site
📅 - Infocrossing Inc. (infocrossing.com -> hostinger.com), a leading provider of managed hosting services and infrastructure, announced on Thursday that it had been chosen by Airgas Inc. (airgas.com), the largest US distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases and related goods, to host and manage its new e-commerce website targeted toward businesses. Airgas will make use of Infocrossing's portfolio of management and control tools, the IFOXcenter Automated Integrated Managed Services suite, to ensure the optimal performance and availability of the site. The new Airgas Web site will include an electronic catalog, allowing customers to search for products and find photos, complete technical information and in-stock status. The site will also provide users with order status and account history information. The new site will be integrated with Airgas's existing back-end systems to provide customers with a Web-based ordering capability. Airgas says it was important for the company to find a host with the ability to deliver 100% uptime in a managed service environment. The company says it was impressed with the set of advanced services provided in Infocrossing's IFOXcenter AIMS platform. Infocrossing says that it sees a trend among companies needing to Web-enable their existing systems, and allow their customers to do business with them over the Internet. The company says the trend represents the maturation of the Internet as a commerce and communications tool that established companies can use to enhance their relationships with their consumers. Infocrossing says it is excited to be working with Airgas on a solution that works to bridge the gap between traditional IT and IP.
