Jan 6, 2006 : Dotster to Sell thawte Certificates

📅 January 6, 2006 - Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Dotster (dotster.com ) said Friday that it had partnered with thawte (thawte.com) to provide e-commerce customers with digital certificates.

The company says it will price thawte's certificates aggressively, entering the market as the lowest-cost thawte reseller.

"From our inception, Dotster has operated on a model of providing the most innovative, advanced products at the lowest possible price and thawte's digital security certificates are a perfect complement to the cost-effective business services we already offer," says Clint Page, CEO of Dotster.

Doster will offer fully authenticated SSL certificates capable of 256-bit encryption, including thawte's low-priced SSL123 Certificate, SSL Web Server Certificates, SGC SuperCerts and SSL Web Server Wildcard Certificates.

"We are proud that Dotster selected thawte as its certification authority," says Ilse Baxter, director of business development and sales and marketing at thawte. "This partnership combines our encryption expertise with Dotster's wide range of Internet services, allowing businesses to get the 'one stop shopping' experience they need for streamlined purchasing and support."
