Apr 13, 2006 : BayMountain Completes SAS 70 Exam
📅 - Managed hosting and colocation provider bayMountain (baymountain.com -> hostinger.com) announced on Wednesday that it has successfully completed an examination in conformity with the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70, Type 1. In the past year, the company has signed numerous new customers and expanded its Richmond, Virginia data center.
SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The SAS 70, Type 1 examination assesses a service organization's controls in terms of its information technology, security and service level agreements. Successful passing of the examination enables organizations to become compliant with government legislation such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA.
The SAS 70 Type 1 report that was issued for bayMountain was effective December 31, 2005. The company will also have a SAS 70 Type 2 audit performed after the end of June so it can verify that it consistently implemented its controls over a six-month period.
