Applied Digital Secures $5B Hyperscaler Lease for Polaris Forge 2 Campus
📅 - Applied Digital has signed a landmark lease agreement with a U.S.-based investment-grade hyperscaler for its Polaris Forge 2 campus, currently under construction near Harwood, North Dakota. The deal, valued at approximately $5 billion in total contracted revenue over a 15-year term, secures 200 megawatts (MW) of dedicated IT load designed to support advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.
The hyperscaler also holds a first right of refusal for an additional 800 MW, positioning the full 1-gigawatt (GW) Polaris Forge 2 campus for potential expansion.
With this new lease, Applied Digital now has a combined total of 600 MW contracted across its [...][... Check source for end of article ...]

📅 - Another Tier III European VPS zone for LumaDock: Hosted in Helsinki, Finland - Infrastructure growth is accelerating at LumaDock. Only days after announcing its Amsterdam availability zone, the developer-focused VPS platform confirmed the launch of a new region in Helsinki, Finland. The addition marks another step in a steady global rollout strategy, giving users across Europe more low-latency options while maintaining the same consistent architecture built around AMD EPYC compute and triple-replicated NVMe storage.
The Helsinki region operates from Digita's Pieni Paja data center in Pasila: a new, state-of-the-art Tier III level facility that reflects Finland's reputation for engineering precision. The site is fully powered by certified Nordic wind energy and [...]
📅 - Trump Pushes to Fast-Track Data Center Grid Connections in U.S. - The Trump administration is pushing U.S. regulators to speed up the process of connecting data centers to the nation's electricity grids, according to documents reviewed by Bloomberg News. The proposal marks a significant policy shift aimed at accelerating growth in the data center and artificial intelligence sectors, which the administration views as critical to maintaining technological and economic competitiveness with China.
U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright has submitted a proposal to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) calling for a 60-day limit on inspections for data center grid connections. Currently, approvals for large-scale data center connections can take years [...]
📅 - Micron Unveils 192GB Low-Power Memory Module for AI Data Centers - Micron Technology is expanding its foothold in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence hardware market with a new generation of low-power memory modules aimed at improving the efficiency and scalability of AI data centers. The company has begun customer sampling of its 192GB SOCAMM2 (Small Outline Compression Attached Memory Module).
It's a next-generation low-power DRAM solution designed to meet the increasing performance and energy demands of AI workloads.
As AI systems evolve to process larger datasets and more complex models, memory has become one of the most critical components of data center infrastructure. The SOCAMM2 module builds on Micron's first-generation LPDRAM SOCAMM [...]
📅 - RETN Launches Flex IX to Unite Peering and IP Transit Services - Global network provider RETN has introduced Flex IX, a new wholesale connectivity service that unifies Remote Internet Exchange (IX) access and IP Transit into a single, flexible solution. The offering aims to eliminate bandwidth waste at peering and interconnect points - a persistent inefficiency in global network operations.
According to RETN's internal research, up to 70% of capacity at major peering points remains unused because bandwidth allocated for IX traffic sits idle whenever peers are inactive. Flex IX addresses this by dynamically converting unused IX bandwidth into IP Transit capacity in real time. This enables network operators, ISPs, and content providers to maximize [...]
