📅 - Apache Struts 2 has become the target of hackers looking to exploit vulnerabilities. This web application framework is used by government agencies, internet services providers and banks. The hackers are using malware to try and exploit the holes within the application.
Ars Technica reports many exploitation attempts have been documented, even though a patch was issued on March 6th. It only took a couple of days for exploits to become public after the patch was issued. Over 500 unique IP addresses were trying to exploit the bug with more than half coming from China.

The expansion of the hosting group comes after raising $250 million from TowerBrook and KKR in investments last year. 📅 - Yahoo Hack May have been Russian Spy Agents - Recently, the U.S. Government accused Russia of being behind some of the largest hacking attacks over the past few years. One of the main attacks Russian spy agents were accused of was the Yahoo attack. The government believes the attacks are being used to gather intelligence.
An unsealed indictment against the Russian government appeared in a federal court in San Francisco on Wednesday. It was against two criminal hackers and two Russian FSB security agents.
