Oct, 2016 : Spying and Data Centers: An NSA Data Center in the UK


📅 - It probably won't surprise many to find out that the US surveillance outpost found in the UK has its own data center. This was revealed by a story by The Intercept, an anti-NSA online magazine from First Look Media. The story showed an incredible amount of details about the activities at Mentwith Hill Station, which came from documents leaked by Edward Snowden.

The first series of stories about Snowden's leaks came out in 2013 from Glenn Greenwald, one of the founding editors of The Intercept. The data center covers 10,000 square feet and was a $40 million project built between 2009 and 2012.
