Public Cloud Services Expected to top $200 Billion by Year-End
📅 - Public cloud services are estimated to end up around $208.6 billion by the end of 2016. This estimate would put the services up 17.2% compared to last year, which ended up at $178 billion. The causes for the growth are the benefits for innovation and the cost savings public cloud services provide for companies.
Along with the growth of the public cloud services, IaaS is expected to be up 42.8% and SaaS is expected to be up 21.7%. It's also projected that private cloud and hosted private cloud service will continue to increase through 2017. All of this is according to Gartner.

📅 - Planned EU Bandwidth Boost to Raise GDP $1 Trillion - New regulations proposed by the European Commission to speed EU telecom networks and also boost investments, could also raise the economic output by 910 billion euros ($1 trillion) and help to create more than 1 million new jobs by 2025.
The cost to get there over the coming decade is expected to exceed 500 billion euros. According to an e-mail from the commission, most of those funds will come from private sources. The EU is enticing investors by promising to “substantially” cut regulations, and also by presenting a plan to deploy 5G mobile networks across the region.

📅 - Russian Hackers Dump More Athletes’ Health Data - Another hacked batch of Olympians' private health files have been released. Russian hackers under the banner name “Fancy Bear” are taking responsibility. This is the group's second data release of private health files this week.
The group published alleged drug-testing files of four athletes on Tuesday, including the files of Serena Williams and Simone Biles.
The most recent batch of leaked files, confirmed Thursday by the World Anti-Doping Agency, contains leaked data on more American athletes, as well as Olympians from Germany, Great Britain, Denmark, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Russia.
