📅 - After the UK voted to leave the European Union in June, there have been many concerns that fewer companies would be building new data centers in Britain. Now we can put some of those worries aside, Microsoft has announced the launch of cloud services in the region.
These are the first Microsoft data centers that support cloud services in the UK. Microsoft isn't alone, Amazon Web Services, the globe's largest cloud provider is also planning a UK data center to launch next year.

📅 - Deutsche Telekom AG Sells iOS Spyware Detection App - Deutsche Telekom AG will begin selling an app that they claim would have helped protected it's users from the spy software that affected so many iOS devices worldwide last week.
“It would have detected last week's iOS attack,” Deutsche Telekom's T-Systems unit managing director Ferri Abolhassan said in an interview, “it works like a cardiogram for your mobile phone or tablet to protect you even from previously unknown threats.”
Deutch Telekom AG will release the app at the IFA technology conference Friday in Berlin.

📅 - Mozilla Releases Observatory - Mozilla has released a brand new tool for website owners to scan and assess their site's security called Observatory. This new tool was developed and tested internally, by Mozilla before it's launch, and seems to be working very well. Since Observatory's inception, over 90 percent of 1.4 million websites scanned have failed the tool's assessment.
Observatory works by first scanning the website for common security measures such as HTTPS, public key pinning, and cross-site scripting protection, and then grades the site from A+ to F.
According to a blog post by the Mozilla, most websites are not taking full advantage of modern security advances, including some of the most popular websites.

📅 - Data Startup Zoomdata Receives Investment from Nonprofit In-Q-Tel - Data startup Zoomdata recently announced that it has received an investment and development agreement with nonprofit organization In-Q-Tel, a group that invests in technology startups on behalf of the U.S. intelligence community. IQT will invest somewhere between $1 million and $3 million in the tech startup, according to representatives from the company.
Goldman Sachs led a $25M funding round for Zoomdata back in February, and experts say the agency's validation of the product could help push Zoomdata to new heights in the tech data industry.

Manage WP is headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia and has been known as a true WordPress professional for many years. The company specializes in WordPress websites including monitoring, SEO, theme management and more. GoDaddy was established in 1997 and the company is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. They are known as one of the largest providers of hosting in the world.
📅 - Micro Focus and HPE to Merge Software in Huge Deal - A deal worth an estimated $8.8 billion has been agreed upon by the HPE CEO Meg Whitman and Micro Focus International Plc of the UK. The deal includes merging the software businesses. HPE will get $2.5 billion in cash and the shareholders will own 50.1% of the merged company when it's all said and done.
This is just one of the many deals Whitman has made since splitting HPE from the sister company HP. They also struck an $8.5 billion deal with Computer Sciences Corp. and have struck many other deals over the past few months.
