📅 - The US government recently ruled that Microsoft Corporation customers don't have a right to know when governmental agencies intercept email. Microsoft filed a lawsuit earlier this year alleging that their customers have a constitutional right to know when and if the government seizes or searches their property.
The government said in a court filing that the lawsuit should be thrown out because the law enables them to intercept electronic communications without a warrant or disclosure – if it would endanger an individual or investigation.

Google, Web.com, Afilias, United Internet and a few other companies will be bidding in real time for the .web TLD on July 27th. The auction will be conducted by ICANN.

📅 - New Developer-Centric Venture in the Cloud Security Space Coming from Lance Crosby - Lance Crosby took the stage last year at the HostingCon Global event in San Diego. He is the founder of SoftLayer and a 20-year veteran of the hosting industry. Many didn't know what his plans were when he left IBM in February, but he's back with something new.
The new thing Crosby has now is called StackPath. It's a Security-as-a-Service company, which launched on Monday with investments from Abry Parnters. The technology for StackPath will include MaxCDN, Cloak and Fireblade, which have all been acquired for this project.

📅 - Verizon Makes Plans to Buy Yahoo! - Many reports are showing that Verizon, a broadband telecommunications company, is ready to buy the internet company Yahoo! An announcement was made earlier this year by that it would cut about 15% of its workforce to help regain profitability. While Verizon is reportedly going to buy Yahoo! analysts are not exactly sure what they plan to do with the company.
Verizon is headquartered din New Jersey and offers many services including mobile telephones, internet services and more. Yahoo! is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California and was created in 1994. Verizon has reportedly offered to pay $5 billion for Yahoo!

📅 - Netflix on Comcast Cable Boxes Will Count Against Data Caps - Netflix and Comcast recently chartered a deal that will make them available on the same cable box later in 2016, but Netflix streaming video will count against Comcast data caps, according to a Comcast representative.
Netflix made a deal to get its streaming video service on Comcast's X1 cable boxes later this year, where it will be available alongside traditional cable channels. The deal raised questions about Comcast's data caps and whether or not Netflix would count against those caps. As a Comcast spokesperson answered when asked: “Yes. All data that flows over the public Internet (which includes Netflix) counts toward a customer's monthly data usage.”

📅 - ServerHub Adds a Sixth Location in New York - Recently, ServerHub announced they have added and launched a sixth global location. It's found in New York City and it's the first real east coast location for the company. They also launched a Chicago location in January, along with a Seattle and Frankfurt location shortly after.
ServerHub plans to roll out more locations this year including some in Europe, Canada and the Asia Pacific. The goal is to provide a lower latency for all major markets by spacing the locations out ...
📅 - European Union Privacy Regulators Okay EU-US Data Transfer Deal - On Tuesday, European Union (EU) privacy regulators gave the proposed EU-US data transfer deal the green light. Concerns about the deal have delayed the decision and although legal challenges are expected from privacy activists, the deal will allow companies more certainty in the transfer of sensitive data.
The European Commission, the EU's executive arm, finalized the privacy shield with the US this month after it was first announced in February.
