📅 - The CEO of Amazon Web Services, Andy Jassy, stated that there will be far more coming from AWS in upcoming years. He announced the company's intentions to launch in many new regions at the AWS Public Sector Summit on Tuesday. Jassy stated that just about every Tier 1 country will be an AWS Region soon.
He also stated they have plans to expand from the current 33 zones and 12 regions to 44 zones and 17 regions within the next year. This is just the beginning of a full geographic expansion plan for AWS.

📅 - Google Fiber Announces 5 New Cities After Webpass Acquisition - Google Fiber recently acquired the ISP company Webpass. Following the acquisition, Fiber added 5 new US cities to its markets, as announced on Wednesday. Cities include the Bay Area, San Diego, Miami, Chicago, and Boston. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
Webpass was founded in 2003 and offers business and residential internet connection starting from 10 Mbps (business) to 100 Mbps (residential) and up to gigabit service.
